Casa
de Trillo, with a long historic tradition, is situated in
Santa Mariña, small village in the town council
of Muxía
in A Coruña which still retains the flavour of tradition.
In
the middle of the rural Galician world, the chapel; dedicated
to this saint, the mill, the fountains, the «cruceiro»
(monumental cross), the paths that go over it, share a landscape
of great richness, where it's easy to see agrarian, cattle
and forest activities in any corner.

Santa
Mariña is located in a privileged enclave from
where attractive routes of several tours can be made.
One of them goes across the small village and lands
that surround it, the other one leads to rocky formations
called «caldeiras», shaped by the River
Castro in its course through the parish of Couceiro.
Furthermore,
the short distance that exists down to the coast will
facilitate to visit Cape Touriñán, the most
western point of Spain, and from where several routes
set out due to its wild landscape. Not far from this
enclave awaits Fisterra, place that was named
«End of the World» by the Romans.
Os Muíños beach is just 4km from the Casa,
and not far from the beaches of Lago and Nemiña,
the latter is well known among the surf lovers. Ézaro
is another interesting place, outstanding for taking
in the cascading mouth of the River Xallas,
drowned by power-sta-tions, but can punctually be
enjoyed on special dates. The lovers of stony burial
mounds have in this area a large field of research.
The
Route of the Dolmens takes us back to the
origins of the Galician civilization, 6000 years ago.
The petroglyphs of Boallo, the dolmens of
Berdoias, Pedra da Arca (Baíñas), Pedra
Cuberta (Treos), Arca da Piosa (Serrano)
and Dombate (Borneiro)
are archaeological sites that won't go unnoticed for
a scholar on these themes/subjects.
Another ingredient of the Costa da Morte (Coast of
Death) is its richness in craftsmanship. Vimianzo
Castle takes in a live display of craftsmanship
during the whole year, in which can be seen the «palilleiras»
(lace makers) of Camariñas, Muxía and Vimianzo,
the potters of Buño, the work of linen, wooden
shoes, and other traditional crafts.
Also,
if you visit us on July 18th, you can enjoy
from the traditional festivity that takes place at
its local shrine, Romería de Santa Mariña,
who is a famous saint known for its healing power
to cure animals. On that day there takes place an
auction of pigs' feet and ribs that the devouts offer
to the virgin to show their gratitude for the favors
granted to them. The town people take advantage to
gather holy land that is later supplied to the animals
when they suffer from illnesses.

Way
of Saint James
go by; which from Fisterra and Dumbría lead to Muxía,
finish-ing- line and last point of the Extension.
The
Sanctuary of the Virxe da Barca; 8 km away, famous for
its leg-endary stones, is intimately related to the apostolic
tradi-tion.

According to legend, being Saint James Zebedee
on the sea cliffs, downhearted because of the slight acceptance
of his preaching among the villagers, the Virgin; in mortal
flesh, appeared to announce that he must go back to Galilee
as his work was concluded.
From
that journey on a stony boat still remains the sail (stone
of Os Cadrís) and the hull (stone of Abalar).

will be organized for the visitors. A farming can
also be visited with its forest plantations, its large
vegetable garden, «hórreos» (elevated granaries) and
stables. This circumstance is clearly shown on the
ornamental elements of the bedrooms and its name,
which coincide with the main lands. Granxa, Agra Darriba,
Furiño, Gándara, Petón and Cortiña.

the same way, the stay in the Casa will allow to enjoy
several possibilities. Two of the rooms, on the ground
floor, are suitable for the use of disabled people,
